What we do

Queer Straight Alliance (QSA) is a student organization promoting the rights and welfare of LGBTQ+ community in Hong Kong. Registered as a society in 2008, QSA is currently the largest network of LGBTQ+ students, staff and allies across campuses in Hong Kong.

As the leading voice of LGBTQ+ and allies’ community in universities, QSA campaigns for equality, policy, and human rights advocacy for sexual minorities through the participation of community events such as Pink Dot Hong Kong, Hong Kong Pride Parade, International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Transphobia and Intersexphobia, and pushing legislations to protect sexuality minorities.

QSA commits to partnering with local and international companies in our career-related initiatives. Through our flagship career events such as the Inclusion Recruitment Conference, a graduate recruitment event, and the Mentorship Program with Fruits in Suits, where we connect LGBTQ+ professionals with students to offer guidance through personal or career difficulties, we offer students a vibrant and resourceful network to thrive and self-discover.

Additionally, QSA brings LGBTQ+ students and allies together by hosting social events throughout the year including our signature Back-to-School Party, Speed-dating Nights and monthly gatherings. QSA advocates for LGBTQ+ issues and supports LGBTQ+ students and staff by regularly hosting activities including coming out workshops, sex health workshops, public forums and exhibitions on LGBTQ+ issues. QSA strives to gather the support of non LGBTQ+ allies in the campaign towards LGBTQ+ equality through establishing allies’ network on campus, introducing the first and only LGBTQ+ Ally Training Workshop in HK universities. All students and staff regardless of sexual orientations and gender identities are welcome to join.
